This lovely doe head is the latest in my Canadian Animal series. I love seeing deer in my neighbour hood we even have a local herd called the “Walmart” gang because they live in a wood beside the Walmart. Deer have a rough time of it in the winter when the snow is deep and find shelter in dense woods where the wind is less and they snack on trees. This is an acrylic painting done on a black underpainting to give it a printlike look. I leave the black showing to be the darkest darks in the painting,
