Jane is a Canadian artist based in a small town in Ontario, where she has cultivated a lifelong passion for creativity through a variety of artistic pursuits. For nearly a decade, painting has been at the heart of her practice, providing a space for exploration, observation, and personal expression.

Jane's artistic education has been largely self-directed. Guided by curiosity and a desire for continual growth, she has sought out artists and movements that resonate with her, building her knowledge through independent study, online courses, and workshops with accomplished professional artists.

Travel is an essential part of her creative journey. Visits to world-renowned galleries and museums in London, New York, Montreal, and Amsterdam have deepened her appreciation of art history, refined her visual understanding, and continue to influence the evolution of her work.

Her paintings are held in private collections throughout Canada and the United States and have been exhibited in galleries in Vancouver, Toronto, and Ottawa. Through her work, Jane strives to create paintings that invite quiet reflection, evoke emotion, and celebrate the beauty found in observation, memory, and the expressive language of paint.

Working from her Ontario studio, she continues to explore new ideas and techniques while remaining committed to the lifelong process of learning, discovery, and creating meaningful art.

My Statement

In a world that often feels hurried and uncertain, Jane believes we all long for moments of quiet—places where the mind can wander, memories can surface, and hope can take root. Her paintings are an invitation into that space. Rather than telling a single story, they create room for contemplation, allowing each viewer to bring their own experiences, imagination, and emotions to the work.

For Jane, every painting is a threshold to a personal journey—a place where stillness becomes restorative and beauty offers a moment of peace. She hopes her work encourages viewers to slow down, reflect, and discover their own connection within each piece. If her paintings provide even a brief sanctuary from the pace of everyday life, creating space for reflection, renewal, and quiet joy, then they have fulfilled their purpose.

My Process

Jane's latest series of paintings emerges from a black ground, creating an atmosphere that feels both dreamlike and immersive. Working with a restrained, subtly surreal palette, she evokes a sense of stepping beyond the familiar—into a place that exists somewhere between memory, imagination, and possibility.

Her brushwork remains intentionally loose and expressive, leaving space for the viewer to enter the painting with their own interpretation. Rather than defining every detail, Jane invites the imagination to complete the story, allowing each work to reveal itself differently to every person who experiences it. At the same time, the bold forms and quiet contrasts offer a strong visual presence, encouraging both contemplation and discovery.
