My process
My latest series of paintings is done on black to evoke a dream-like feel, I use a limited surreal palette to make the painting seem like an escape into another dimension. I keep the brushstroke loose to leave room for the viewer’s imagination to move into the scene or simply enjoy the strong forms that already are present.
Escape into a world of memories
In a world of stress we need a place of calm. A place to visit. A place of quiet that we can fill with our imagination, our hopes or our memories. My paintings are meant to be used as a palette to start this personal journey into a place of peace.
I am a Canadian artist who lives in a small town in Ontario. I have always pursued a creative life through various avenues and have now been painting for almost 10 years. My education has been self guided by finding art that speaks to me and pursuing these avenues. I travel visiting world class galleries in London, New York, Montreal and Amsterdam. These visits help educate my eye and increase my knowledge of art and art history. My works are in collections around the US and Canada. They have been exhibited in galleries in Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa.
