This painting was inspired by a photo taken in Australia by Kerri Ann Afford. She is a wonderful and generous photographer who shares her work with the world. I have done many paintings based on her photos of dogs and now I am getting around to doing horses in advance of my show at the Ottawa Dressage Festival.

I love the Arab breed. It embodies the beauty and strength of horses from generations of selective breeding for these characteristics. They are everything a horse should be.
